SEMINAR | ANNUAL SEMINAR OF THE SOUTH ASIA OBSERVATORY

This seminar, organized by Noria’s South Asia Programme (SAProg) and the Institute for Strategic Research (IRSEM), proposes to analyse the changing patterns of civil-military interactions in India and Pakistan. It will attempt to demonstrate that, in both countries, contemporary civil-military relations represent a rich laboratory to apprehend major state-dynamics. Scholars and experts of South Asia will discuss how recent political and socio-economic trends in each country have expanded the notion of national security, thus challenging the traditional understanding of civil-military interactions.
